Dissertation Completion Grant
The Dissertation Completion Grant helps support students enrolled in a doctoral program at Illinois State to complete their dissertation and graduate from their program within two years.
Students will receive up to $2,000 during a time not to exceed two years of a doctoral program. You may use grant funds for any expenses directly related to completion of your dissertation such as, for instance, typing, editing, and copying costs; the purchase of consumable supplies; and/or travel for data collection. You may not spend funds on salary for yourself or for any Illinois State faculty member, or on normal everyday items such as, for example, rent, child care, or groceries.

Contact Graduate School for more informationThe application must be submitted online using Infoready software. You will use your ulid and password to access the application site. You will be asked to upload 2 documents, the grant application narrative in a Word document and the excel budget spreadsheet. A statement of support from the chair/co-chair of your dissertation committee that includes affirmation that your proposed timeline and budget are reasonable and appropriate for completion of the dissertation within two years, needs to be obtained and copied and pasted into the application.

Student Symposium Grant
The Student Symposium Grant assists students with the costs associated with carrying out and presenting research, scholarship, or a creative endeavor for presentation at the 2024 or 2025 University-wide Symposium.
