The Center for Performing Arts on the campus of Illinois State University is home to music, theatre, and dance performances.
The Illinois Shakespeare Festival was founded in 1978. It is an internationally recognized company; putting on thirty-six performances each season in a state-of-the-art, Elizabethan-style theater at Ewing Cultural Center.
The Normal Theater, east of campus on North Street, has been renovated by the city to match its original 1937 decor and shows popular, international and documentary films
The Castle Theatre originally opened in 1916 as a 1000 seat theatre, and has been completely restored and renovated to host a diverse mix of live music, corporate, public and private events.
The Bloomington Center for Performing Arts hosts music, theatre, comedy, and dance events, as well as seasonal, and corporate affairs. The center also offers tours of its historic building.
Home to the Bloomington Thunder hockey team, the Bloomington Edge football team, and the Bloomington Flex basketball team the U.S. Cellular Coliseum also hosts concerts and other events.
The Constitution Trail consists of around 37 miles of multi use trail for running, biking, or walking.
The Lake Run Club promotes running and racing in Central Illinois through quality races, running programs, and social events for all ages and abilities. For bicyclists, the McLean County Wheelers is a group for people of all different skill levels and riding styles. Multi-sport athletes can work out with the TriShark Triathlon Club or the Tri-Birds on campus.

There are two large parks in Normal. Fairview Park in North Normal has a large outdoor pool with waterslides and other attractions. Anderson Park on College Avenue, also includes an aquatic center, as well as softball fields and tennis courts.
Over a dozen golf courses are to found within the Twin Cities, including our own Weibring Gold Club on the Illinois State campus.
Located a few blocks east of campus in Uptown Normal, the Children's Discovery Museum offers unique hands-on exhibits, classes, and programs that stimulate the imagination and curiosity of children of all ages.
Miller Park, in Bloomington, features a small municipal zoo. The park also has a lake with beaches and paddleboat rentals.
